Ethnicitees at the White House (circa 2021–2022)
During the Ethnicitees Bowie Town Center era (2019–2022), Wala Blegay, later the Honorable Council Member At-Large of the Prince George's County Council, led a delegation to the White House wearing Ethnicitees cultural wearables, including our Henrietta Lacks and Sojourner Truth designs. Representing Prince George's County, the delegation brought the importance of Ethnicitees and the preservation of Black history and culture to the attention of the White House and the U.S. government. It remains one of the proudest moments in our history since 1990.
With gratitude to the Honorable Wala Blegay for carrying our mission to the nation's front door.
